The Gift Responsibly Campaign (GRC), formerly known as the Holiday Lottery Campaign, expands its mission to discourage adults from giving lottery tickets to minors throughout the year, not just during the holiday season.

Research shows that early exposure to gambling, particularly lottery tickets, increases the risk of developing gambling problems later in life. The campaign, supported by the National Council on Problem Gambling (NCPG) and McGill University's International Center for Youth Gambling Problems & High Risk Behaviors, provides resources and awareness materials to participating organizations.

Key Changes and Features:

  • Extended focus beyond holiday season to include all gift-giving occasions
  • New creative collateral design options with digital files for social media
  • Three levels of public engagement for participating lottery organizations
  • Continued support from 100% of Canadian and U.S. lotteries

The campaign reinforces lottery corporation age restriction policies while providing flexible messaging options for year-round implementation. Organizations can participate at different engagement levels during the holiday season and adapt campaign materials for other occasions throughout the year.
