
DraftKings Expands to Wisconsin with New Tribal Casino Sportsbook Deal
DraftKings expands into Wisconsin through a partnership with the Lac du Flambeau Band of Lake Superior Chippewa Indians, launching retail sports betting operations at Lake of the Torches Resort Casino on August 28, 2024.

The new sportsbook will feature:
- Six DraftKings betting kiosks
- One over-the-counter betting window
- Location adjacent to the casino's sports bar
- Age requirement of 21 and older
This expansion marks DraftKings' 28th U.S. state operation, adding to their presence in Washington, D.C., and Ontario, Canada.
Wisconsin Sports Betting Context:
- Only legal in tribal casinos with amended gaming compacts
- The Lac du Flambeau tribe received approval for sports betting on April 9, 2024
- Becomes the seventh tribe to offer sports betting in Wisconsin
- Online betting remains limited to tribal property only (currently only available through Oneida tribe's app)
Bill Guelcher, CEO of Lake of the Torches Resort Casino, emphasized the property's commitment to providing high-quality gaming amenities through this partnership with an industry leader. Michael Kibort, VP of Retail Sportsbooks at DraftKings, expressed pride in expanding their best-in-class customer experience to Wisconsin customers.
Note: The current agreement only covers retail sports betting operations, with no mention of a property-specific betting app.
